About Philavie
Producer • Recording Engineer • Session Drummer
Filippos Iliadis, professionally known as Philavie, is an Athens-based music producer, recording engineer and drummer, and the founder of South Side Studios in Glyfada.
His work combines musicianship, production and engineering — bringing the perspective of a performer together with the technical experience needed to shape a recording from the first take to the final mix.
From Musician to Producer
Philavie began his professional music journey as a drummer, performing in Athens before expanding into recording, music production and audio engineering.
He later attended Berklee College of Music as a scholarship student, studying Music Production & Engineering and Drum Performance. He graduated in 2023 at the top of his class and received the Sennheiser Award for Excellence in Audio Engineering and Production.
That combination of performance and engineering continues to define his approach: technology should serve the music, not distract from it.
Studio Experience
Philavie’s professional experience later took him to The Village Studios in Los Angeles, one of the world’s established commercial recording environments.
Working in that setting developed his understanding of professional studio workflow, session preparation and the attention to detail required when working with artists, producers and engineers at a high level.
Today, he works from South Side Studios in Glyfada, Athens, collaborating with artists locally and internationally.
A Musician Behind the Desk
What defines the approach at South Side Studios is the combination of three perspectives.
As a musician, Philavie understands feel, dynamics and performance.
As a producer, he focuses on arrangement, direction and what the song actually needs.
As an engineer, he brings the technical precision needed to capture and shape that performance properly.
The result is a collaborative process where creative and technical decisions are made around the artist — not around a formula.
South Side Studios
Founded in Glyfada in 2025, South Side Studios is a private recording and production studio for singers, bands, musicians, producers and songwriters.
The studio offers vocal and instrument recording, drum and full-band sessions, music production, mixing, mastering, session drumming and rehearsals, with remote mixing and mastering available for artists outside Athens.
The aim is simple: create an environment where artists can focus on the music while the technical side is handled with care, experience and attention to detail.
